In the midst of the uncertainty surrounding the future of the Eurozone, short of dislocation, there is the potential for a significant inflationary environment over the long term. With this in mind, St. Columbanus recommends a low risk, actively managed strategy focusing on real capital and income preservation through the use of index linked products, commodity investment and investment in those equities able to outperform during periods of higher inflation in order to achieve a greater return than possible with cash deposits. It is recommended minimum investment period of 1 to 3 years.
